Overview

Taking it's name from the French word for "plain," Champaign County holds some of the the most picturesque landscape views in Ohio.  Long-known for agricultural production in corn, soybeans and wheat, recent farming activities have changed to include consumer production of potatoes, green beans, sweet corn, cabbage, fish, bison and water.  Encompassing about 428 square miles, Champaign County is in the upper third of Ohio's county in size, but with just under 40,000 people, one of the smaller ones when using population.

URBAN, SUBURBAN, RURAL

Champaign County boasts a variety of lifestyle choices.  The county is comprised of 12 townships, 5 villages and 1 city.  Living accomodations include traditional urban neighborhoods, small town settings, upper-end lake-front properties, rural subdivisions and remote farm options.

Business...lots of it, big and small

Champaign County is home to a great entreprenuerial environment...it's in our DNA.  Sure, farming and food production are an important part of local commerce, but we have a vibrant community of small businesses with unique offerings, and the county is home to companies with a major presence in the aerospace, electronics, automotive components, medical components and warehousing/logistics.
